Before making a name for themselves on the grandest stages in tennis, many players start out in their professional careers by climbing the ranks of the ITF pro circuit; this is a strategy that Anastasia Zolotareva has used in her young career while being on team Volkl since July 2019.
As some of the all-time greats such as Serena and Roger have recently announced their retirements (Serena played her last match at the US Open while Federer intends on retiring after this week’s Laver Cup), the bittersweet news implies that there’s an opportunity for new players to shine and prove themselves amid a so-called ‘changing of the guard.’ In Zolotareva’s case, the 20-year-old is having her best season yet on tour, reaching the top 320 in the world in singles after capturing a series of ITF singles titles.
This past week, she captured her fourth ITF singles title of the year (all coming in Cairo, Egypt) on clay at the 25K level while using the V8 Pro racquet which cements her place as one of the players to watch on tour in the months ahead leading into 2023.
“I like the quality of the Volkl Tennis racquets and how the representatives of [Volkl Tennis] reacted positively from the very beginning of our relationship,” Zolotareva says.
